Ramakrishna Mission, Digboi celebrated National Youth Day & Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 9 and 12 January 2022. The centre organized an Art, Quiz, Singing and Recitation Competition on 9 January among the students from schools of Digboi. 13 schools sent near about 150 students to participate. On 12 January 2022 evening, the program started with the lighting of lamps and ‘Vedic Chanting’. Sri Avijit Roy and Swami Aruatmananda spoke on the importance of the day and Swami Vivekananda’s view on Independence. Swami Vivekananda’s ‘Swadesh Mantra’ in Hindi was repeated with the students present in the program by Swami Arunatmananda. Prizes were distributed among the 30 winners from the different categories of the competitions that were held on 9 January 2022. The singers and reciters who won the prizes were given the chance to perform on the dais. During the entire programme about 70 students, teachers, and devotees, guardians were present following the State Govt. COVID-19 latest SOP.
