Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Salem celebrated National Youth Day and Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 12 January and 15 January 2022. The centre conducted 4 programmes in connection to the National Youth Day.
Event 1: Ashrama’s Temple & Swami Vivekananda’s statue were decorated with lights and flowers. Swamiji by the monks of Salem Ashrama followed by Arati to Swamiji. Swadesh Mantra – Oath was taken. NCC students of Sri Sarada College, Salem paid their respects by garlanding Swamiji and were administered Swadesa Mantra. A short lecture was also given by Swami Yogirarajananda.
Event 2: A special program was organized in Sri Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Shivaji Nagar, Ammapet, Salem. The program started with a prayer by the students and was followed by an Introductory & Welcome address by Swami Yatatmananda. Swami Chaturbhujananda delivered a speech on ‘The Message of Swami Vivekananda to the Youth of India. Dr R.Krishna Chetty, President, Vidya Bharati Tamilnadu gave a felicitation address. Sri Narai S Nellaiappan, Vivekananda Thava Illam, Vanavasi delivered a speech on ‘The Glory of India – Love India, Serve India’. There was an interaction with the students and Swadesh Mantra was administered to all the students.
Event 3: A special program through online mode was organised with the students of Bharathiyar Arts and Science College for Women, Deviakurichi, Salem. Swamiji’s photo decorated with flowers was arranged in the seminar hall of the college. The Principal and College Placement team lighted the lamp and paid high tributes to Swamiji.
Dr D. Rajakumari, Principal welcomed the gathering. Swami Satyeshwarananda took part in the program and delivered a lecture on ‘The message of Swami Vivekananda to the Youth of India’. Dr U.Thanesh, NCC Officer & Asst. Professor, Dept of English, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, Chennai delivered a speech on ‘Love India, Serve India’. Swadesha Mantra was administered to all the participants.
Event 4: An ‘online’ lecture with the NCC cadets & officers of Thiruvalluvar Government Arts College, Rasipuram and Kandaswami Kandar’s College, Paramathi Velur, Namakkal Dt on 15.1.2022. Swami Yatatmananda gave a lecture on the ‘The message of Swami Vivekananda to the Youth of India’ & Dr N.Chandrasekaran gave a lecture on the subject ‘The Glory of India – Love India – Serve India’.
