National Youth Day was celebrated on January 12, 2025, at Ramakrishna Math, Barisha. The event aimed to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and inspire the youth to live a life of service and spirituality. The celebration commenced at 3:30 PM at our Nat Mandir premises with a tribute to Swami Vivekananda. It saw enthusiastic participation from 135 students and their teachers from three schools – [School Names] – and one college – [College Name].
Following the Vaidic Chanting, Opening Song, and inaugural address by the head of Ramakrishna Math, Barisha, students presented cultural performances, including recitations, musical performances, and speeches. Addresses by the monks emphasized Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and encouraged the youth to embody compassion, resilience, and selfless service. An interactive session followed, allowing students to share their insights and reflections, and teachers discussed incorporating these values into the curriculum.
The atmosphere throughout the event was enthusiastic and engaging. The program concluded with evening snacks and sweets and the distribution of a book on Swami Vivekananda to each participant. The celebration was a resounding success, leaving participants motivated to contribute positively to society and understanding the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings in shaping today’s youth.
