Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Bajepratappur, Bardhaman, solemnly celebrated National Youth Day at Swami Vivekananda’s Pally Paitrik Bhita, Datta Dariyatone, on Monday, 12 January 2026, commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
Procession and Floral Tribute
The day’s programme began with garlanding and floral offerings at Swamiji’s statue on Kalna–Boinchi Road.
A colourful traditional procession—including a motorcycle rally, school students, devotees, dignitaries, and devotional bhajans—proceeded from there to Swamiji’s ancestral home at Datta Dariyatone.
Public Meeting
A public meeting was organised in the courtyard of Swamiji’s Pally Paitrik Bhita.
- Chief Guest: Swami Divyagunanandaji, Principal, Ramakrishna Mission Brahmananda College of Education, who delivered an inspiring address based on Swami Vivekananda’s teachings.
- Guest of Honour: Swami Muktanandaji Maharaj, Ramakrishna Ashrama, Singerkon.
Other dignitaries who addressed the gathering included:
- Sri Deboprasad Bag (MLA, Kalna Constituency)
- Sri Pranab Roy (Social Worker)
- Sri Mrinal Mukherjee (Headmaster, Vivekananda Vidya Mandir, Datta Dariyatone)
Local musicians and artists enriched the event with devotional songs and flute performances.
Cultural Presentations
- A Geeti Alekhya titled “Vir Vivekananda” was presented by Baidyapur Cultural Centre.
- The same group also conducted demonstrations of Yogāsanas and Prāṇāyāma.
Winter Relief Distribution
As part of the day’s service activities, a Winter Relief Camp was held, through which over 200 poor and needy beneficiaries received blankets, sarees, sweaters, and other essential items.
Prasad Distribution
Around 2,000 devotees were served Khichuri prasad at noon inside the campus.

The National Youth Day celebration was conducted with devotion, enthusiasm, and community participation. The combination of procession, cultural programmes, inspiring speeches, and service activities made the occasion memorable and uplifting for all present.
