The students of the locality gathered at Ramakrishna Math, Kathamrita Bhavan on January 12, 2026, to celebrate National Youth Day with a series of devotional and patriotic programs dedicated to the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.

  • Historical Context: He noted that the Government of India designated January 12 as National Youth Day in 1984 to honor Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary.
  • Swamiji’s Vision: Dr. Majumdar explained that the concept of National Youth Day is rooted in Swamiji’s vision for a developed nation. This vision relies on the eradication of poverty, illiteracy, and caste disparity across all sections of society.
  • Call to Action: The speaker emphasized Swamiji’s earnest appeal to the younger generation to take the lead in fulfilling these dreams for a rejuvenated India.
