National Youth Day 2026: Ramanathapuram

Ramakrishna Math, Ramanathapuram

Ramakrishna Math, Ramanathapuram, celebrated National Youth Day on 12th January 2026 with great enthusiasm and outreach. The celebrations were conducted across three different venues to maximize the impact of Swami Vivekananda’s message: two schools in Ramanathapuram and the Math’s school in Nagachi.

Participation and Attendance

The events saw a robust gathering of youth and educators:

  • Students: 800 students participated in the day’s functions.
  • Teachers: 45 teachers joined the celebrations to guide and inspire the students.

Literary Competitions and Awards

Prior to the main celebrations, the Math organized a series of literary competitions to engage students with the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.

  • Participation: A total of 713 students participated in these preliminary competitions.
  • Recognition: During the Youth Day functions, winners were honored with prizes for their excellence.
  • Incentives: To ensure every participant felt inspired, all other students received booklets on Swami Vivekananda, providing them with lasting spiritual and motivational guidance.

Summary of the Celebration

The program at all three locations was successful in fostering a spirit of discipline and character-building among the youth. By combining competitive literary engagement with formal celebratory functions, the Math reached a wide demographic of students in both the Ramanathapuram and Nagachi regions.
