The Onam celebrations, Kerala’s vibrant state festival, were conducted with great enthusiasm across all educational institutions under Sri Ramakrishna Advaita Ashrama, Kalady, from 26th August to 5th September 2025. The festivities encompassed the Brahmanandodayam schools and the Vivekananda Computer Centre.
The celebrations featured a variety of cultural and traditional activities, including:
- Floral decorations (Pookalam): Teachers and students collaboratively created intricate floral designs, prominently displayed at each institution.
- Traditional Thiruvathira songs and dance, reflecting Kerala’s rich cultural heritage.
- Fun-filled games, which added joy and active participation.
- Each institution concluded with the traditional Onam Sadya.
Swami Srividyananda, School Manager, along with the monastic members of the Ashrama, graced the events and emphasized Onam’s spirit of unity, cultural heritage, and oneness. On Thiruvonam day (5th September), a grand Pookalam was arranged in front of the Universal Temple.
