During May 2025, the Ramakrishna Centre of South Africa, Phoenix, along with its Johannesburg Sub-Centre, conducted extensive relief operations, distributing essential items to 155 families in need.
Medical Relief Camp
On Sunday, 4 May 2025, the Centre’s medical wing, the Ramakrishna Clinic of South Africa – Phoenix, organized a large-scale multi-speciality Medical Camp at the Verulam Day and Frail Care Centre, Durban, from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The camp was supported by 69 medical professionals (primarily specialists) and 77 support staff. The services provided included consultations in internal medicine, rheumatology, paediatrics, ophthalmology, dentistry, ultrasonography, electrocardiology (ECG), and laboratory tests. A total of 1824 consultations were conducted. All medical services, including 43 pairs of prescription glasses and pharmaceuticals, were offered free of charge. Additionally, 1000 freshly cooked meals were served to the patients.
Ongoing Medical Relief
Apart from the special camp, the Phoenix Clinic conducted 2918 consultations throughout the month as part of its regular medical relief activities.
