Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad, organised a two-batch residential summer camp titled SAMSKAAR 2026 for school students in the age group of 9 to 15 years, held within the Math premises. The first batch was conducted from 26 April to 10 May 2026, and the second batch from 11 May to 24 May 2026.
Programme Overview
The camp was conceived as a holistic value-education initiative aimed at the physical, intellectual, moral, and spiritual development of young students. The curriculum encompassed a wide range of disciplines, including:
- Yoga āsanas and concentration skills
- Moral values and character formation
- Bhajans, Vedic chanting, and recitation from the Bhagavad Gītā
- Stories from the epics (Rāmāyaṇa and Mahābhārata)
- Reading skills and handwriting improvement
- Shramadān (selfless service activities)
- An introduction to Hinduism
- The life and message of the Holy Trio — Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda
Each day, breakfast and refreshments were provided to all participating students.
Special Observances
A Vidyārthi Vrata Homa (sacred fire ceremony for students) and a Parents Pāda Pūjā were organised at the conclusion of both batches, in keeping with the tradition of invoking divine blessings upon the students and honouring their parents.
Valedictory Functions
On the concluding day of each batch, the students were presented with prizes, certificates, and books authored by Swami Vivekananda, in recognition of their participation and sincere engagement.
The valedictory function of the second batch was graced by Sri V. C. Sajjanar, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, who served as the Chief Guest. The inaugural function of the first batch was presided over by Dr. Sowmya Mishra, IPS, Director General of Prisons, Telangana. The students presented a cultural programme as part of the valedictory celebrations.
Participation
A total of 1,100 students and 100 parents participated across the two batches, reflecting the warm response and confidence reposed by families in the programmes of Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad.
