Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Rajamahendravaram, organized the ‘Jagruti’ Cultural and Literary Competitions for students of schools and colleges across the twin Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over an extended programme period spanning September 2025 to April 2026.
The competitions, conducted in the format of written quizzes, were based on two foundational texts drawn from the teachings and ideals of Swami Vivekananda: Swami Vivekananda Jeevitham – Sandesam (Life and Teachings of Swami Vivekananda) and Vijayaniki Margam (The Way to Success). The choice of texts reflects the centre’s commitment to fostering familiarity with the life and message of Swami Vivekananda among the younger generation.
The programme witnessed an enthusiastic and widespread response. A total of 73,608 students from 624 schools and 74 colleges participated in the competitions, reflecting the broad outreach achieved by the centre through sustained engagement with educational institutions across the region.
As a mark of encouragement and recognition, literature authored or inspired by Swami Vivekananda, valued at ₹11,20,560/-, was distributed to both participants and prize winners. This gesture underscores the centre’s abiding emphasis on the dissemination of Swamiji’s thought as a means of character formation and value education among youth.
