School Bag Distribution Programme: Chandigarh, April 2026

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Chandigarh

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Chandigarh, organised a school bag distribution programme on 24 April 2026 for the benefit of underprivileged students enrolled in government schools in rural Punjab. The activity was conducted across six government schools situated in and around Ramdass Tehsil, near Amritsar, as part of the Ashrama’s ongoing educational outreach for children belonging to economically weaker sections of society.

Materials Distributed

Approximately 250 students were the beneficiaries of this initiative. Each student received a school bag containing the following essential study materials:

  • 4 notebooks
  • 1 water bottle
  • 1 stationery pouch comprising:
    • 2 pencils
    • 2 pens
    • 1 eraser
    • 1 sharpener
  • 1 copy of “Swami Vivekananda – The Friend of All” — a book intended to instil noble ideals and values among young minds

Participation

The programme was conducted with the active participation of teachers from the respective schools, local volunteers, and well-wishers from the community, whose cooperation contributed to the smooth and successful execution of the event.

This service activity reflects the Ashrama’s sustained endeavour to support the educational aspirations of children from marginalised communities, in the spirit of the Ramakrishna Order’s ideal of Shiva jnane jiva seva — serving humanity as a manifestation of God.
