On 01 March 2026, the Ramakrishna Mission, Chandigarh, organized a half-day spiritual retreat titled “Sri M. Festivity” within the Ashrama premises. Sri M. or Mahendranath Gupta was one of the disciple of Sri Ramakrishna and the author of Sri Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita. The event was conducted in an atmosphere of deep devotion and spiritual reflection, drawing a gathering of approximately 200 devotees.

Programme Highlights

The retreat followed a structured schedule aimed at spiritual upliftment:

  • Commencement: The programme opened with Vedic and Gita chanting, followed by readings from the Sri Ramakrishna Vachanamrit.
  • Rituals: A significant part of the morning was dedicated to the chanting of the Sri Ramakrishna Ashtottara-nama, accompanied by the ritualistic offering of 108 bilva leaves.
  • Discourses: The assembly was addressed by revered monks and distinguished guests, including:
    • Revered Swami Sarvalokananda ji Maharaj (New Delhi).
    • Swami Tanmahimananda ji Maharaj (Shimla).
    • Srimati Nirmal Mittal (representing the Sri M. Trust), along with other devotees.

The spiritual programme featured soul-stirring bhajans and concluded with the Bhoga-arati. Following the conclusion of the formal sessions, cooked Prasad was distributed among all 200 attendees.
