In February 2026, the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Kailashahar, successfully implemented the Maternity and Child Welfare Services project, supported by the Infosys Foundation. This initiative aims to provide essential healthcare, nutritional support, and hygiene resources to expectant mothers and children in the Unakoti district.
Camp Details and Beneficiaries
Two medical camps were conducted during the month within the Kumarghat Subdivision:
- Fatikroy Gram Panchayat (01 February 2026):
- Beneficiaries: 31 expectant mothers and 58 children.
- Staffing: 2 doctors and 4 health workers provided necessary medical assistance.
- Krishnanagar Gram Panchayat (08 February 2026):
- Beneficiaries: 33 expectant mothers and 66 children.
- Staffing: 2 specialist doctors and 6 health workers rendered essential services.
Support Provided
To ensure the well-being of the beneficiaries, the center provided comprehensive support, including:
- Medical Care: Qualified doctors and health workers conducted screenings and provided necessary medical treatment, free medicines and consultations.
- Nutritional Support: All attendees were provided with nutritious food items, including milk/curd, eggs, fruits, soya beans, biscuits, Horlicks, pulses, and other bakery items.
- Hygiene & Sanitation: To promote healthy living standards, toiletry items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, and soaps were distributed to all beneficiaries.
