As a significant part of the ongoing Centenary Celebrations of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Kanpur, the infrastructure of the Ramakrishna Mission School underwent comprehensive repair and modernization. This extensive renovation project aimed to provide a thoroughly updated and modern educational environment for the students.
Statue Unveiling Ceremony
To commemorate the completion of the renovation and to instill a lasting source of inspiration for the students, a fiberglass statue depicting the profound ideal of ‘Man the Maker of his Destiny’ was installed and unveiled within the newly renovated school campus. The statue portrays a boy dynamically carving himself out of a rough block of stone, visually representing Swami Vivekananda’s message of self-reliance and willpower.
The statue was unveiled in a simple yet solemn function held on Monday, October 27, 2025. The Ashrama was deeply honoured by the presence of Sri Satish Mahana, the esteemed Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh, who graciously performed the unveiling ceremony.
Significance
The installation of this statue serves as an enduring symbol of the educational philosophy upheld by the Ramakrishna Mission, constantly reminding the students of their inherent strength and the power of self-effort in shaping their own future.
