Tailoring Training Schools: Khetri, April 2025

Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Smriti Mandir, Khetri, Rajasthan

Ramakrishna Mission in Khetri has been successfully conducting Tailoring Training Schools for underprivileged girls in the region for many years. Currently, there are six functioning centrestwo in Khetri and one each in the villages of Papurna, Babai, Jasrapur, and Nanuwali Bawri—all operating at full capacity.

These six-month training programs provide 10–15 trainees per batch with practical skills in tailoring, enabling them to become self-reliant and financially independent. The initiative also employs local tailors as instructors, thereby generating local employment.

Feedback from the trainees has been consistently positive. Many students, after completing the training, are not only able to meet their household stitching needs but also earn by taking up tailoring orders. Sewing machines are awarded to the most meritorious students whenever funding permits.

A new centre named Ma Sarada Silai Prashikshan Kendra was inaugurated on 23 April 2025 at Village Sanjay Nagar, Tahsil Khetri, further expanding the reach of this empowering initiative.
