Two-Day Special Lecture Series in Silicon Valley: San Francisco, January 2026

Vedanta Society of Northern California, San Francisco, USA

The Vedanta Society of Northern California, San Francisco, conducted a two-day special lecture series titled “Spiritual Principles for Academic and Career Excellence” on January 17–18, 2026, in celebration of Swami Vivekananda’s birthday. The programme was held at Mandir Shreemaya Krishnadham, San Jose, at 4:00 PM (PT) on both days.

The event drew a strong participation from the Silicon Valley community, particularly professionals and executives from the IT sector. Swami Tattwamayananda, Minister-in-Charge of the Vedanta Society, delivered the lectures. Drawing inspiration from the Vedantic teachings and Swami Vivekananda’s message, he explained how spiritual principles such as inner discipline, clarity of purpose, self-inquiry, and dedicated action contribute to true excellence in academic pursuits and professional careers.

Each day’s session comprised a one-hour lecture followed by a 30-minute interactive Q&A session, enabling participants to seek practical guidance on integrating these principles into their studies, workplaces, and personal lives. The atmosphere remained both contemplative and dynamic, reflecting Swamiji’s ideal of combining spiritual depth with purposeful action.

The enthusiastic response—especially from technology professionals—highlighted the relevance of Vedantic insights in addressing contemporary challenges such as stress, ethical decision-making, and the quest for meaning. Participants expressed deep appreciation for the clarity, depth, and practical applicability of the talks, and many conveyed interest in attending similar programmes in the future.
