A series of impactful programmes and celebrations were held by Ramakrishna Mission, Mumbai in September 2025, fostering human excellence, youth empowerment, and tribute to Swami Vivekananda’s ideals. Events included the 132nd Anniversary of Swamiji’s historic Chicago Address, the VIVEKA Workshop on Human Excellence, and a Residential Youth Camp for college students.
132nd Anniversary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda’s Historic Address
On 11 September 2025, the 132nd anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s address at the World Parliament of Religions (Chicago, 1893) was commemorated at the Vivekananda Auditorium.
Adv. Shri Ashish Shelar, Hon. Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and emphasized the modern relevance of Swamiji’s message.
Swami Aryananda, Swami Buddhananda, and Swami Jnanagamyananda delivered inspiring talks, while Swami Satyadevananda welcomed the dignitaries and gathering. The event was attended by nearly 290 devotees, including enthusiastic youth, and concluded with evening refreshments.
VIVEKA Workshop: Human Excellence Development Programme
The VIVEKA Workshop was conducted on 12 September 2025 at the Vivekananda Auditorium for college students and faculty members.
A total of 198 participants attended this workshop aimed at spreading Swami Vivekananda’s timeless values and inspiring youth towards character building and nation building.
Sessions were led by Swami Satyadevananda, Swami Jnanagamyananda, Swami Buddhananda, Swami Medhajananda, and Swami Aryananda, offering guidance and practical insights. The programme concluded with snacks, lunch/prasad, and distribution of certificates.
Residential Youth Camp
From 12th to 14th September 2025, a three-day Residential Youth Camp was held at the Ashrama premises for young men (ages 18–28) from colleges in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane. A total of 40 students from 14 colleges and four resident delegates from the Vivekananda Study Circle (VSC) participated.
The camp was inaugurated by Swami Satyadevananda and featured interactive sessions by eminent monks and speakers. Activities included chanting, meditation, Yogasana, bhajans, readings from The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, evening arati, and an audio-visual presentation.
All participants received meals and refreshments throughout the camp. The concluding session saw certificates distributed, and four outstanding participants were specially felicitated.
