Ramakrishna Mission, Rajamahendravaram, commemorated Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses (September 11–27, 1893) by organising a series of programmes.
Values Education Programme – 11 September 2025
Under the auspices of the Department of School Education, East Godavari and West Godavari Districts of Andhra Pradesh, a special Values Education Programme was conducted in virtual mode on Thursday, 11th September 2025. Swami Parijneyananda and Swami Sevyananda addressed the students on the topics “Be Good and Do Good” and “The Power of Concentration according to Swami Vivekananda” respectively. Smt. P. Prasanthi, I.A.S., Collector of East Godavari District, also participated and addressed the gathering. This initiative saw the participation of 1,04,695 students and 5,078 teachers from 467 government schools.
Garlanding of Swamiji’s Statue – 11 September 2025
In the afternoon (3–4 p.m.), the garlanding of Swamiji’s statue, Aarati, and Vedic chanting were performed at Vivekananda Circle, Kambala Tank. The Chicago Address of Swamiji was recited by all the students, while the students of VAP (free coaching centre) recited his inspiring quotations. Monks, the Chief Guest, and selected students spoke on the significance and impact of Swamiji’s historic Chicago address. About 120 students participated in the programme, and literature on Swamiji was distributed to all.
Youth Convention – 13 September 2025
On Saturday, 13th September 2025, a Youth Convention was held at the Math campus for college students. Revered Swami Sashikantananda ji Maharaj, along with Swami Parijneyananda, Swami Sevyananda, Swami Lokamayananda, and Sri Ramesh, Chairman of Minerva Group of Schools, Prattipadu, addressed the participants. A total of 400 students took part in the event. Literature on Swamiji was distributed to all, and laminated photos of Swami Vivekananda were presented to the participating colleges. All participants were served with lunch prasad.
