In connection with the Centenary Celebrations of Ramakrishna Mission, Batticaloa, a series of significant activities were conducted in the Ratnapura District of Sri Lanka during May 2026.
Unveiling of Swami Vivekananda Statues
As part of the Centenary Celebrations, statues of Swami Vivekananda were ceremonially unveiled at three locations within the Ratnapura District: St. Joachim, Karapincha, and Rakwana. The unveiling ceremonies were conducted with due reverence and solemnity, commemorating the centenary of the Centre’s dedicated service to the region. The installation of these statues is intended to serve as a lasting source of inspiration for the communities in these areas.
Inauguration of Seva Samithy at St. Joachim
A Seva Samithy was formally inaugurated at St. Joachim, a locality predominantly inhabited by Indian Tamil devotees. The inauguration of the Seva Samithy marks an important step in extending the Mission’s spirit of selfless service among the local community, in consonance with the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda.
