Values Education Camp: Konampatti, October 2025

The Ramakrishna Math, Konampatti, Sivakasi, successfully organized a day-long Values Education Camp for school children on October 4, 2025. The camp aimed to instill ethical values, promote concentration, and encourage the spirit of service among the youth.

A total of 237 students from various schools and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) across the surrounding areas of Sivakasi, Thiruthangal, and Sattur eagerly participated in the program.

Program Highlights and Speakers

The camp was distinguished by the presence of monastic guest speaker Swami Satyaprabhananda Ji Maharaj, the Administrator of the Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence at Ramakrishna Math, Chennai. He delivered an inspiring discourse, setting a high tone for the event.

The program was structured to engage students through a variety of balanced activities:

  • Learning and Development: Included a main discourse, a PowerPoint presentation focusing on personal development through Seva (selfless service), group discussions, and a video presentation.
  • Practical Sessions: Featured workshops, including an art workshop, practical lessons, and sessions on concentration and meditation.
  • Engagement and Pledge: Participants were involved in physical and intellectual games that promoted holistic development, and a formal pledge-taking ceremony.

Outcome and Logistics

The enthusiasm of the students was notable, with many eagerly purchasing Ashrama literature, which is considered a rare and encouraging phenomenon today. All 237 attendees received a Certificate of Participation, and complete hospitality, including tiffin, snacks, and a full meal, was provided to ensure their comfort throughout the day.
