Ramakrishna Math, Haripad successfully conducted a Values Education Program on 4 July 2026 at National High School, Vallamkulam, Pathanamthitta, benefiting 153 students of the school.
The program was organized with the objective of inspiring students to imbibe the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and to cultivate noble values essential for their intellectual and moral development. The theme of the session was “Powers of the Mind and Improving Memory Power.” The monk and guest speaker explained the immense potential of the human mind and shared practical techniques for improving concentration, memory, self-confidence, and disciplined living. The interactive session encouraged students to actively participate by asking questions and sharing their thoughts.
The program commenced with a warm welcome extended to the monk and the guest speaker by the Principal of the school. This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, marking the auspicious beginning of the event. A photograph of Swami Vivekananda was reverentially garlanded, and Pushpanjali was offered by the students, teachers, and the Principal as a mark of respect and gratitude to the great spiritual leader and patriot.
The day’s proceedings included inspiring talks by the monk and the guest speaker, followed by an engaging interaction with the students. The speakers emphasized the importance of character building, purity of mind, disciplined study habits, and the development of inner strength for achieving success in life.
At the conclusion of the program, snacks were distributed to all the participants. As a token of encouragement, every student received two Malayalam books:
- Brahmacharyam Nalgunna Sakthi
- Swamijiyude Jeevidathil
The books were gifted to inspire students to study the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda and to practice values that lead to personal excellence.
The program was highly appreciated by the school authorities, teachers, and students. It proved to be a meaningful initiative in promoting value-based education and motivating young minds to develop concentration, self-discipline, and a strong moral character in accordance with the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.
