Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Hatamuniguda, celebrated the 77th Vana Mahotsava on 6 July 2026 in collaboration with the Muniguda Forest Department, reaffirming its commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable living.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Swami Gitatmananda, Secretary of the Ashrama, who highlighted the importance of Vana Mahotsava in fostering ecological awareness and inspiring collective responsibility towards protecting nature.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Ranganath Banerjee, Principal, and Shri Praveen Kumar Dash, Ranger, Muniguda Forest Range, emphasized the urgent need for afforestation and encouraged everyone to contribute actively towards building a greener and healthier future.
The event was attended by officials of the Forest Department, students of Classes VIII and IX, and members of the teaching and non-teaching staff, all of whom participated with enthusiasm.
A tree plantation drive followed the inaugural programme, during which more than 200 saplings of various species, including Mahogany, Neem, and Jackfruit, were planted across the Ashrama campus. The initiative served not only as a ceremonial observance of Vana Mahotsava but also as a meaningful step towards promoting environmental stewardship through collective action.
