Vasantha Vihara – Summer Camp: Halasuru, Bengaluru, April–May 2026

The annual Vasantha Vihara Summer Camp 2026 was successfully conducted at Ramakrishna Math, Halasuru, Bengaluru, from 26 April to 10 May 2026. The camp was organised for students of Classes 5 through 10, with a total of 95 students registered and actively participating throughout the programme.

The camp was held daily from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Each session commenced with prayers and yoga, after which three structured sessions were conducted by eminent resource persons drawn from diverse fields. The sessions were thoughtfully designed to foster values, discipline, self-confidence, cultural awareness, and holistic personality development among the young participants.


Inaugural Function — 26 April 2026

The Inaugural Function was held on 26 April 2026. Sri Y. S. Patil, IAS, Commissioner of Agriculture, Government of Karnataka, Bengaluru, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He addressed the assembled students, parents, and devotees with inspiring and encouraging words befitting the commencement of such a value-oriented programme.


Vidyarthi Homa — 1 May 2026

A Vidyarthi Homa was solemnly performed on 1 May 2026 for the spiritual welfare and academic progress of the camp participants. The sacred ritual was conducted in keeping with the tradition of invoking divine blessings upon students at the commencement of dedicated learning.


Mata Pitru Puja and Parents’ Retreat — 3 May 2026

On 3 May 2026, a Mata Pitru Puja was organised, wherein the students offered worship to their parents as an expression of gratitude and filial reverence. The puja was conducted by Volunteer Sri Sudarshan Kumar.

A Parents’ Retreat was also held on the same day, with approximately 150 parents in attendance. Dr. T. G. K. Murthy and Sri Ritesh Kumar Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Government of Karnataka, graced the occasion as Special Guests and engaged in meaningful interaction with the parents. A special discourse was delivered by Swami Bodhaswarupananda.


Valedictory Function — 10 May 2026

The Valedictory Function was held on 10 May 2026, marking the successful conclusion of the camp. Sri K. Harish, Founder and Chairman of Vagdevi Vilas Institutions and former scientist of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The function featured cultural performances by the camp students, distribution of prizes, and a sharing of camp experiences — providing a fitting and joyful culmination to a fortnight of disciplined learning.

On major event days, the combined attendance of students, parents, volunteers, and devotees reached approximately 300 participants.


Conclusion

The Vasantha Vihara Summer Camp 2026 concluded with enthusiastic participation from the students, wholehearted support from the parents, and dedicated service from the volunteers. The programme successfully fulfilled its objective of imparting value-based education, spiritual orientation, and personality development to young minds in a joyful, disciplined, and spiritually enriching environment.
