Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Gurap, celebrated Vivek Utsav from 6 to 12 January 2026, commemorating National Youth Day through a series of diverse cultural and social programs.
- Bhakta Sammelan (6 January): The festival commenced with a Bhakta Sammelan. The Chief Guest, Swami Stavapriyananda (Secretary, RKM Ramharipur), hoisted the saffron flag to mark the formal opening. The day featured a welcome address by the Ashrama Secretary, Ramayan Gaan by Swami Kalyaneshananda, and a discourse on Sri Sri Ramakrishna Punthi by Swami Stavapriyananda. The event was attended by 200 devotees.
- Blood Donation Camp (7 January): In collaboration with Bardhhaman Medical College, a successful blood donation drive was organized. Inaugurated by Sri Lakshman Chandra Pal, the camp saw 35 donors contributing to the cause.
- Inter-School Competitions (8–9 January): Over two days, 122 students from Class VII to the Graduation level participated in various contests, including Debate, Storytelling, Singing, Drawing, and a Quiz.
- Swami Vivekananda Janma Tithi Utsav (10 January): The 164th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was observed with traditional solemnity. The program included Mangalarati, special ritualistic puja, bhajans, and a Havan. Approximately 360 devotees partook of the afternoon prasad.
- Swami Vishuddhananda Memorial Football Tournament (11 January): Four teams competed in this popular event, which drew nearly 3,000 spectators. Dipti Ekadash (Pandua) emerged victorious, securing the Swami Vishuddhananda Memorial Trophy and a cash prize. Hooghly All Adhibasi Ekadash took the second position, receiving the Swami Shivamayananda Memorial Trophy and a cash prize.
- Youth Convention (12 January): The concluding day began with a colorful procession through the village meadows. Swami Shaktishanandaji from Belur Math addressed the youth gathering. The event included the prize distribution for the earlier cultural competitions and concluded with the chanting of Jai in the presence of 250 attendees.
