Welfare Service for Intellectually Challenged Families : Thirumukkudal, June 2026

On the morning of 13 June 2026, Ramakrishna Mission, Thirumukkudal, organized a welfare programme aimed at providing essential support and encouragement to the families of intellectually challenged children. During the initiative, essential provisions and sanitary supplies were distributed to 145 beneficiary families associated with the Mission.

To further empower the parents and guardians, an educational awareness session was conducted detailing the various welfare schemes and benefits provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu for children with special needs. The session was led by the Block Coordinator of the Tamil Nadu Rights Project, who meticulously explained the available support systems and provided practical guidance on how to access these governmental resources.

The event was imbued with joy through cultural performances presented by approximately 20 special children. Their talents were showcased beautifully, bringing happiness and inspiration to all those in attendance.

List of Distributed Items (Provided to each of the 145 families):

Diapers: Distributed from a consolidated pool of 45 packets (30 child-sized, 15 adult-sized, containing 20 diapers per packet) allocated according to need.

Rice: 5 kg (Total distributed: 725 kg)

Toor Dhal: 1 kg (Total distributed: 145 kg)

Masoor Dal: 0.5 kg (Total distributed: 72.5 kg)

Gingelly Oil: 0.5 litres (Total distributed: 72.5 litres)

Salt: 1 packet (Total distributed: 145 kg)

Bathing & Washing Soap: 1 piece each

Spice Packets: 100 gms including Sambar powder, Rasam powder, Dhania powder, and Chilli powder (Total distributed: 58 kg)

Green Gram (Mung Dal): 250 gms (Total distributed: 36.25 kg)
