Workshops on Painting and Wood Carvings: Viveknagar (Agartala), April 2026

In a vibrant tribute to India’s spiritual and patriotic heritage, Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar, hosted a week-long series of artistic workshops from 9 to 16 April 2026. The events focused on the powerful theme: “Vivekananda’s Nationalism and the 150th Anniversary of Vande Mataram.”


National Painting Workshop

Organized in collaboration with the Lalit Kala Akademi (New Delhi and Agartala) under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, this painting workshop brought together a diverse group of eminent artists. Participants hailed from across the country, including Assam, Manipur, West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Tripura, each bringing unique regional perspectives to the theme of national identity.

Wood Carving Workshop

Running concurrently from the 9th of April, a specialized workshop on wood carving was also held. This initiative was organized in partnership with the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) and SART, further exploring the central theme through the medium of traditional sculpture and craftsmanship.


These workshops served as a creative confluence, blending artistic excellence with the profound nationalist ideals of Swami Vivekananda and the historic legacy of Vande Mataram.
