A solemn and devotional Matru Puja (Worship of Mothers) ceremony was organized at Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, on Tuesday, 31 March 2026. The event was conducted by the students of Ramakrishna Math Sarada Vidyalaya Matriculation School, Madurai, who reverentially worshipped their mothers as living manifestations of the Divine.
The ceremony was marked by traditional rituals performed with deep shraddha (faith). The participating students:
- Washed the feet of their parents as a mark of respect and gratitude.
- Applied sandalwood paste and performed archana (offering of flowers).
- Offered prayers and performed arati with utmost devotion.
- Concluded the ceremony by prostrating and touching the feet of their parents to seek their blessings.
The event saw the participation of 60 students from classes VI to IX, accompanied by 80 parents. The atmosphere remained charged with spiritual gravity, emphasizing the Vedic ideal of Matru Devo Bhava (Treat your mother as God).
