In this financial year, 949 units of blood were collected through 30 blood donation camps.

b. Specialized Medical Treatments

The following special treatments were provided by some of our centres through their hospitals, dispensaries, special programmes, camps, etc.:

  1. Eye treatment was rendered by our Math centres in Chennai, Halasuru, Naora, Rajkot, and others. Besides, many centres have a separate eye department attached to their dispensaries.
  2. Leprosy detection and treatment was done by Chennai Math.
  3. Maternity and child welfare services were provided by our hospital in Thiruvananthapuram and by some dispensaries.
  4. Physiotherapy treatment was provided by our centres at Ghatshila and Nagpur. Rajkot centre has a special clinic for providing physiotherapy treatment to children with cerebral palsy.
  5. Psychiatry treatment was provided in our Thiruvananthapuram hospital and by some of our dispensaries.
  6. Tuberculosis cases were treated at Chennai Math, Ichapur and Pune centres.
  7. Medical camps: Through the various eye camps conducted by our centres, 3600 patients were operated on for cataract and 3282 patients were given spectacles. Programmes like leprosy and TB eradication, and medical camps for other ailments were also held by various centres.

Besides, many centres have special departments for dental surgery, ENT, cardiology, paediatrics, acupressure and acupuncture.

Ramakrishna Math spent a sum of Rs. 71.16 crore on medical services.

In this financial year, 11,764 units of blood were collected through 115 blood donation camps.

b. Specialized Medical Treatments

The following special treatments were provided by some of our centres through their hospitals, dispensaries, special programmes, camps, etc.:

  1. Eye treatment was rendered by our centres at Bankura, Belagavi, Gurap, Kamarpukur, Khetri, Porbandar, and at the hospitals in Dehradun, Kankhal, Lucknow, Muzaffarpur, Vrindavan, etc.
  2. Leprosy detection and treatment were done by the Headquarters (Belur Math) and our centres at Kamarpukur, Lucknow and others. Rehabilitation services to leprosy afflicted persons were provided by our Chengalpattu centre.
  3. Maternity and child welfare services were provided by our hospitals in Kolkata (Seva Pratishthan), Lucknow and Vrindavan, and by a few of our dispensaries.
  4. Physiotherapy treatment was provided by the medical units at Headquarters (Belur Math) and our centres in Bhopal, Indore, Itanagar, Kolkata (Seva Pratishthan), Lucknow, New Delhi, Prayagraj, Shillong, Varanasi, Vrindavan, and others. Our Visakhapatnam centre has a special clinic for providing physiotherapy treatment to children with cerebral palsy.
  5. Psychiatry treatment was provided in our Itanagar, Kolkata (Seva Pratishthan), Lucknow, Raipur and Vrindavan hospitals.
  6. Tuberculosis cases were treated at the 200-bed sanatorium in Ranchi, the TB clinic run by Delhi centre at Karol Bagh area, the dispensary at Headquarters (Belur Math) and our medical units at Itanagar, Kamarpukur, Kankhal, Lucknow, Narainpur, Patna, etc.
  7. Medical camps: Through the various eye camps conducted by our centres, 18,065 patients were operated on for cataract and 6,234 patients were given spectacles free of all charges.

Ramakrishna Mission spent Rs. 529.37 crore towards medical services.
