Ramakrishna Mission, Digboi, regularly organizes free Cataract Detection Camps on its campus, usually held on the last Sunday of every month, provided at least 30 patients enroll. This ongoing initiative is a collaborative effort with the National Programme for Control of Blindness & Visual Impairment (NPCB&VI) and the District Blindness Control Society (DBCS), Tinsukia, Assam.
Service Procedure
- Screening: Enrolled patients are checked and screened for cataract conditions at the Mission’s campus.
- Surgery & Transport: Patients selected for surgery are sent, free of cost, to specialized hospitals—namely Lion KK Saharia Eye Hospital, Dibrugarh and Drishti Netralaya Eye Hospital, Dibrugarh.
- Post-Operative Care: The patients are dropped back to the Ashrama once the entire surgery procedure is successfully completed, ensuring complete care and logistical support.
