Cultural Competitions: Jhargram, September 2025

Ramakrishna Mission, Jhargram, West Bengal


Ramakrishna Mission, Jhargram, organised district-level school cultural competitions for the fourth consecutive year, covering all 8 blocks and 1 municipality area of Jhargram district. The competitions were conducted from 18 August to 3 September 2025 across 21 venues in the district.

The events included:

  1. Essay Writing Competition on “India’s Freedom Movement and Swami Vivekananda” (Classes IX–XII)
  2. Painting Competition on “Parivrajak Vivekananda” (Classes V–VIII)
  3. Poetry Writing Competition on “Ramakrishner Naren” (Classes V–VIII)
  4. Elocution Competition on “One who loves all beings truly serves God” (Classes IX–XII) – held in 2 blocks
  5. Quiz Competition (Classes IX–XII) – held in 2 blocks

In total, 1102 students from 86 schools participated in the competitions, of which 412 were boys and 690 were girls. Participation numbers by category were as follows:

All the participants received certificates of participation and a book on Swami Vivekananda.

The prize distribution ceremony was held at Maa Sarada Sabhangan, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandir (E.M.R.S.), Jhargram, on 11 September 2025. Swami Achyutatmananda ji Maharaj, a senior monk from Belur Math, along with Prof. Sushil Kumar Barman, Former Principal of Rani Indira Debi Girls’ College, Jhargram, and other dignitaries, gave away the prizes.

In all, 43 students from 27 schools secured prizes across the different events.
