On 20 September 2025, an exciting excursion to Jayrambati and Kamarpukur was embarked upon by Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Garbeta. The excursion was organized to provide students with a deeper understanding of the spiritual teachings and cultural heritage of the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda tradition. Insights into the lives of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa and Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, two central figures in Indian spiritual thought, were imparted.
Departure from the school was made at 7 am, and a total of 115 students, along with teachers and drivers, participated in this educational trip. Prasad was offered at Kamarpukur Ramakrishna Mission at noon, and the group returned to the Ashrama at 4:30 pm.
This trip was planned to connect classroom learning with real-world sites of historical and religious significance. Visits were made to notable places maintained by the Ramakrishna Math, such as the shed where Sri Ramakrishna was born and the temple complex in Jayrambati. Through guided tours, students were enabled to learn about the childhood of Sri Ramakrishna and the life of Maa Sarada Devi in her native village.
The excursion provided an opportunity to experience the serene and tranquil atmosphere of these holy sites, promoting reflection and peace. Opportunities to interact with local residents and learn anecdotal histories about the sites were also made available to the students, as is often highlighted in travel accounts.
