In a dedicated effort to serve the community through humanitarian healthcare, Ramakrishna Math, Chandipur, organized a comprehensive Eye Camp on 4 April 2026. This noble initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Vivekananda Mission Asram Netra Niramay Niketan, focusing on providing essential ophthalmic services to the underserved sections of society.
The camp offered a wide range of free services, including:
- General eye-power examinations.
- Diabetic retinopathy screenings.
- Cataract detection and screening.
- General awareness counseling on optical health and hygiene.
A total of 114 individuals participated in the camp to receive professional eye-power check-ups. Following thorough clinical evaluations, 25 patients were identified as requiring surgical intervention for cataracts. These individuals will be provided with free eye operations in the coming days. As part of the preoperative care, the Math distributed free medications to ensure the patients are medically prepared for their respective surgeries.
In addition to the charitable services provided, several patients were guided by the attending medical experts in selecting appropriate spectacles to improve their vision.
