Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, promptly undertook extensive flood relief operations across multiple affected regions of the district over four days, beginning on 5th October 2025. The initiative aimed to provide immediate support and essential materials to families severely affected by the recent floods.
Day 1 – Relief Services in Saradapalli (05.10.2025)
The first phase of the relief operation was carried out in Saradapalli, Jalpaiguri town. The Mission distributed cooked food to about 300 beneficiaries belonging to 53 families. Each family received a comprehensive relief kit containing Chira (flattened rice), jaggery, biscuits, bananas, bottled water, toothpaste, toothbrushes, candles, matchboxes, and soap.
Day 2 – Extended Services in Maynaguri and Dhupguri Blocks (06.10.2025)
The relief operations were expanded to Betgara of Maynaguri block and Dakshin Alatagram of Dhupguri block. Aid was provided to 112 families, benefiting approximately 600 individuals. Cooked food was served to all, and each family received an item kit similar to that distributed on the previous day.
Day 3 – Continued Support in Betgara, Maynaguri Block (07.10.2025)
On the third day, relief work continued in Betgara of Maynaguri block. A total of 50 families (around 300 beneficiaries) were served cooked food and provided with 50 relief kits. Each kit contained essential food and household items, including Chira, cow milk, jaggery, chikki, ORS, soap, 20L water drum, aluminium bucket, mug, utensils (thali, glass, dish), sari, dhoti, gamchha, blanket, mosquito net, mosquito dhoop, candle, and bleaching powder.
Day 4 – Final Phase at Hoglatari (Bogribari), Dhupguri Block (11.10.2025)
The concluding phase of the relief drive was organized at Hoglatari (Bogribari) in Dhupguri block, benefiting 87 families comprising 392 individuals. Each family received a comprehensive kit containing 41 essential items, which included a laminated photo of Thakur, Ma, and Swamiji; Swami Vivekananda’s photo; the book Amrit Bani; water (5-liter drums); food provisions such as masur dal, soyabean, groundnuts, chhola, mustard oil, salt, and chikki; personal hygiene items (toothpaste, toothbrush, handwash, bath and detergent soap, candles, lighter, mosquito dhoop); household utensils (cooking pot, pan, ladle, spatula, plate, glass, aluminium bucket, mug, trunk with lock, tarpaulin); and daily necessities like mosquito net, blanket, saree, dhoti, towel, vest, mirror, comb, hair oil, and other miscellaneous items.
