Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Manasadwip, successfully conducted its annual service camp during the Gangasagar Mela 2026, providing spiritual, nutritional, and residential support to thousands of pilgrims.
1. Pilgrim Services & Hospitality
The Ashrama provided a sanctuary for pilgrims, offering accommodation and consecrated food (Prasadam).

2. Spiritual Activities
The camp maintained a devout atmosphere through daily rituals and discourses:
- Daily Worship: Mangalarati, morning formal worship, and evening Arati were conducted at the Gangasagar unit shrine from 11th to 15th January.
- Pravachan: Spiritual discourses on Sri Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita (Bachanamrita) were held daily from 12th to 15th January to provide spiritual guidance to the pilgrims.
3. National Youth Day & Government Collaboration
At the special invitation of the Government of West Bengal, the Ashrama organized a program at the Mela Pravachan Kendra on 12th January 2026, coinciding with National Youth Day.
- Reach: The program was live-streamed via the Government’s official webpage, attracting over 5,500 viewers.
- Program Highlights:
- Devotional Music: Swami Amarendranandaji performed Vivekananda Geeti.
- Readings: Br. Soumyajit and Br. Rakesh presented excerpts from the works of Swami Vivekananda in Bengali and English.
- Guest Speaker: Shri Santanu Gayen, Member of the Managing Committee, delivered a lecture on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
- Cultural Performance: Students of Dhablat Lakshman Parabesh High School presented a “Geeti Alekhya” (musical feature).
