National Sports Day 2026: Manasadwip

In observance of the nationwide National Sports Day 2026 campaign under the theme “Khelega Bharat, Jeetega Bharat”, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Manasadwip, through its Manasadwip Ramakrishna Mission High School, organised a series of programmes on 28 and 29 August 2026 aimed at creating awareness among students and the local community about the importance of physical fitness, yoga, gymnastics, and sports in maintaining a healthy and disciplined life.


28 August 2026 — Social Awareness Programme

A Social Awareness Programme on the values and usefulness of yoga, gymnastics, and sports in everyday life was organised at the Ishtananda Hall of the school. The programme was presided over by Swami Muktipradananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Manasadwip, and Swami Mahamritananda, Headmaster, Manasadwip Ramakrishna Mission High School. Sri Dilip Kumar Jana, former Senior Sports Teacher of Bamankhali MPP High School, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. All teachers and approximately 400 students participated in the programme.

The main attraction of the event was a gymnastics performance by a 10-year-old student of Class III, Mandirtala Menon Abitonic Primary School, whose remarkable display of skill, confidence, and agility drew considerable appreciation from the audience. The young student has also secured the first position at the State-level Gymnastics Competition.


29 August 2026 — Cycle Rally and Football Match

Cycle Rally

A Cycle Rally was organised to spread awareness about the importance of yoga, gymnastics, sports, physical fitness, and a healthy lifestyle. The rally commenced from the school campus at 10:00 am, proceeded through the village path to Harimancha, Chayergheri, and Chemaguri Bazar, and returned to the school at approximately 11:30 am. Approximately 380 students along with all teachers participated in the rally. Cake and chocolates were distributed among the students upon conclusion of the rally.

Friendly Football Match

Following the rally, a friendly football match was organised between Manasadwip Ramakrishna Mission High School and Sumatinagar Sarat Kumari High School. The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. Mid-day meals were provided to all participating teachers and students.
