On October 25, 2025, the Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith Agriculture College, Purulia was formally inaugurated. This new college is proudly affiliated with the Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur, Nadia.
The ceremony was graced by the revered Srimat Swami Suviranandaji Maharaj, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, who officially inaugurated the new institution on the dawn of the event.
Following the inauguration, a commemorative programme was held at the Purulia Vidyapith Auditorium. The event saw the attendance of several high-ranking dignitaries who delivered inspiring and motivational speeches, including:
- Hon’ble Justice of the Supreme Court of India
- Hon’ble Minister of the Department of Panchayat & Rural Development, Govt. of West Bengal
- Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur, Nadia
- Monks and other distinguished guests
The celebration concluded with cultural presentations showcasing the talents and devotion of the students and local traditions:
- A vibrant display of folk dance (Chhau Dance) was organized, adding a rich cultural dimension to the auspicious occasion.
- The students of Purulia Vidyapith presented a drama on a devotional theme and other cultural programmes.
