Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Purulia observed the 133rd Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago Addresses through a district-level two-tier cultural competition programme, culminating in a Prize Distribution Ceremony on 11 September 2026.
Cultural competitions — comprising Essay Writing, Elocution, Recitation, Music, Drawing, and Storytelling — were organised among students of the Purulia district. A total of 77 institutions, including primary schools, high schools, colleges, cultural institutions, and a university, participated. 1,477 students took part in the preliminary rounds held at their respective institutions, of whom 535 students qualified for the final level. The final-level competitions were held at the ‘Kalyan’ premises on 30 August 2026.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony was held at the Vidyapith Sabhagriha on 11 September 2026 at 10:30 am. Swami Balabhadrananda ji Maharaj, Assistant General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, presided over the programme and addressed the gathering. 438 students from 34 educational institutions were present at the ceremony. Certificates and prizes were distributed to the winners across different groups. Tiffin packets were distributed to all participants at the conclusion of the programme.
