A Phacoemulsification (Phaco) Machine for advanced cataract surgery was auspiciously inaugurated on Wednesday, 1 July 2026, at the Charitable Dispensary of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Garbeta.
The inauguration was performed by Swami Jnanavratananda ji Maharaj, Treasurer, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, who graciously blessed the occasion with his presence. The programme commenced with a solemn prayer offered by the monastic brothers of the Ashrama, joined by the medical staff and assembled devotees.
With the installation of this modern Phaco machine, the Sevashrama’s Charitable Dispensary will henceforth be equipped to perform advanced, painless cataract surgeries with significantly reduced recovery time, all offered at highly subsidised rates in service of the local community.
The programme concluded with the distribution of Prasadam.
