Inauguration of Ramakrishna Mission, Indas


Ramakrishna Mission, Indas was formally inaugurated as a sub-centre of Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar, on 24 September 2023.

The programme started at 9.00 a.m. with a procession (prabhat pheri) carrying the tableaus of Sri Sri Thakur, Sri Sri Maa and Swamiji with the participation of local villagers and the devotees.

Sri Sri Thakur’s special puja and homa was also performed.

In the pandal, from 10 a.m. till 4.00 p.m. a series of performances of Geetinatya by Amal Academy, Indas; Sri Ramakrishna songs by Smt Sarojini ghosh, and other singers; Santhal dance, and a Geetialekhya (Yugavatar Sri Ramakrishna by Sri Ramakrishna Sangeetanjali, Belur) were presented before a large number of audiences.

At 4.00 p.m. Swami Suviranandaji Maharaj, the General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math opened formally the Ramakrishna Mission, Indas with an installation of a marble plaque at the janmabhita of Sri Gouri Pandit, the renowned tantrik sadhak and a scholar of those days who proclaimed the Avatarhood of Sri Ramakrishna in a meeting of scholars convened in 1870 by Sri Mathuranath Biswas at the Dakshineswar temple.

A public meeting was held at the pandal from 4.30 p.m. where Revered General Secretary Maharaj gave the main speech. Swami Amalatmananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Somsar, gave the welcome address. Swami Shivapradananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapeeth, Purulia also spoke on this occasion.

About 8000 people took khichuri prasad at noon.
