The Ramakrishna Mission School of Languages and Ramakrishna Mission Centre for Human Excellence was inaugurated on 5 September 2026 at the premises of Ramakrishna Mission, Gangail Road, Agartala. The centre has been established in collaboration with the Department of Skill Development, Government of Tripura, and marks a significant step in making quality foreign language education accessible to the youth of the state.
The new centre offers structured, communicative training in five languages: English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish. The initiative has been developed with academic support from the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Gol Park, Kolkata, and is expected to expand further in collaboration with the Ramakrishna Mission’s language centre in Hyderabad.
Inaugural Programme
Swami Shubhakarananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar (Agartala), presided over the inaugural programme. The function was attended by distinguished guests:

Addresses
Swami Shubhakarananda described the initiative as deeply significant for the youth of Tripura and expressed gratitude to the state government and the Directorate of Skill Development for their support. He noted that similar Ramakrishna Mission language centres in Kolkata and Hyderabad train approximately 18,000 and 21,000 students respectively each year across various languages, indicating the considerable potential for the Agartala centre to grow in the years ahead.
Sabujkali Sen emphasised that the initiative would enable the people of Tripura to connect more meaningfully with the wider world. She noted that the Gol Park centre in Kolkata currently offers training in 21 languages, with Hebrew and Dutch expected to be added shortly. She also highlighted the employment potential of language training, citing Japanese and Chinese as languages that could enable young people to work as translators and support their families.
Pradeep K, IAS, described the centre as the first of its kind in the Northeast region, affirming that this joint endeavour of the Ramakrishna Mission and the Government of Tripura would empower students to acquire foreign language skills and access employment opportunities worldwide.
Prabananda Sarkar Banerjee observed that the institute could open avenues for young people in sectors such as tourism and other industries dependent on language competency, while simultaneously contributing to their dignity and moral development.
