Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Gurap, was blessed with the visit of Srimat Swami Suhitananda ji Maharaj, Vice-President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, from 24 to 27 April 2026. Revered Maharaj arrived in the forenoon of 24 April, having travelled from Ramakrishna Math, Chandipur, and departed for Belur Math in the afternoon of 27 April 2026.
Inauguration of Solar Power Plant
On 26 April 2026, Revered Maharaj graciously inaugurated a 20 kWp on-grid solar power plant installed within the Ashrama premises. The plant is expected to generate sufficient electricity to meet the Ashrama’s energy requirements, thereby eliminating the need for payment of electrical bills in future. The solar plant was dedicated in honour of Srimat Swami Shivamayananda ji Maharaj.
Inauguration of Renovated Ashrama Office
On the same day, Revered Maharaj also kindly declared open the renovated and extended Ashrama office, which represents a significant improvement upon the earlier facility.
Devotees’ Conference
The most significant event of the visit was a Devotees’ Conference held on Sunday, 26 April 2026. Discourses were delivered by monks of the Ashrama, interspersed with melodious devotional songs. The conference concluded with words of benediction by Revered Maharaj. Approximately 300 devotees attended the conference, which was held in an atmosphere of deep spiritual fervour.
