On Sunday, 22nd March 2026, Ramakrishna Math, Madurai, organized a Japa Yagna (Spiritual Retreat) from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The event was dedicated to intensive spiritual practice and collective chanting, drawing a large number of participants.
Program Highlights
The four-hour spiritual session was structured to provide a deep meditative experience:
- Opening: The program commenced with the singing of Bhajans, followed by an introductory speech highlighting the profound spiritual significance of Nama Japa (repetition of the Divine Name).
- Core Practice: From 9:15 AM onwards, devotees and sadhus engaged in collective Japa. This was interspersed with devotional singing and spiritual readings.
- Scriptural Readings: Participants listened to selected passages from the Spiritual Teachings of Swami Brahmanandaji and the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, rendered in Tamil for the local community.
- Conclusion: The sacred event concluded with a formal Arati.
Participation
The Japa Yagna was attended by approximately 335 devotees, who spent the morning in prayer and contemplation.
