Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, organized a Nara-Narayana Seva (serving God in man) on December 9, 2025, focusing on the village of Putimari and its adjacent areas.
- Location: Putimari village, Maynaguri Block, District Jalpaiguri.
- Significance: This area suffered severe devastation from a tornado in the early week of June 2024 and has been a continuous focus for the Ashrama’s relief efforts.
Humanitarian Activities and Impact
Continuing its commitment to serving distressed and vulnerable communities with compassion, the monks and volunteers of the Ashrama visited Putimari once again to conduct a large-scale feeding program.
- Cooked Food Served: 710 people were served a special, nutritious meal.
- Menu: The meal (Prasada) consisted of Khichuri, Aloo Dum, Papad, Chutney, Payes, and Sweet.
- Beneficiaries: The recipients included children, elderly persons, and economically weaker families from the locality. All 710 attendees partook of the prasada together, fostering a spirit of unity and gratitude.
Spiritual and Educational Programme
Alongside the distribution of cooked food, the event included a comprehensive program aimed at spiritual upliftment and awareness:
- Spiritual Activities: Spiritual discourse, Kirtan, and Devotional songs were performed.
- Awareness Programs: Sessions were conducted covering Health, Modern Gadgets, Hygiene, and Environmental Awareness.
This initiative reflects the Ashrama’s sustained commitment to holistic welfare, addressing both the physical needs and the moral and educational development of the community since the 2024 tornado disaster.
