Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, successfully organized a “Maternity and Child Welfare Service” programme on December 5, 2025, within the Ashrama premises. This vital initiative was made possible through the generous funding support provided by the Infosys Foundation. The core purpose of the service was to address nutritional deficiencies among vulnerable mothers and children in local communities, reflecting the Mission’s commitment to foundational healthcare and welfare.

The programme successfully reached 249 beneficiaries from several economically weaker areas within Jalpaiguri Town, including Sukantapally, Saradapally, Pilkhana colony, and Adarpara. The beneficiaries comprised two distinct groups: 103 Post-Natal Mothers and 146 Children. The key item distributed was a comprehensive Food Supplement package, carefully selected to provide essential nutrients vital for the recovery and health of new mothers, and the crucial growth and development of young children.

This Maternity and Child Welfare Service was highly effective in providing direct nutritional aid to a significant number of vulnerable individuals. The cooperation between Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, and the Infosys Foundation ensured that this compassionate service reached the target communities efficiently, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts in humanitarian work and securing a healthier future for the women and children of Jalpaiguri.
