In keeping with the nationwide initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, and in accordance with the guidelines and instructions received from the Headquarters, Belur Math, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar (Agartala) observed National Sports Day 2026 on 28 and 29 August 2026 under the theme “Khelega Bharat, Jeetega Bharat”. The celebrations were held at the campus of the Ramakrishna Mission Educational Complex, Viveknagar, and comprised three events in which approximately 1,100 students participated in all.
Event 1: Awareness Programmes
Three Awareness Programmes were organised across both days — 28 and 29 August 2026 — and were attended collectively by approximately 1,100 students. Each programme commenced with the singing of Vande Mataram, followed by addresses delivered by noted personalities and the screening of audio-visual presentations on the theme of sports and national development.
Event 2: Volleyball Competition
A Volleyball Competition was conducted at the complex of the Ramakrishna Mission ITI, Viveknagar. Refreshments were served to all participating players and attending officials.
Event 3: Football Matches
Football Matches were organised on both 28 and 29 August 2026. Four teams drawn from within the campus competed in the event. The names of the participating teams were as follows:
