Celebrations at Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala and Viveka Smaraka, Mysuru

Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru celebrated National Youth Day on 13 and 14 January 2020 at Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala and Viveka Smaraka


Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala

National Youth Day celebrations on 13 January at the Vidyashala.  As per the tradition, the procession of school and college students was organized and about 1450 students from 12 schools and a college took part. Swami Vivekananda’s decorated statue was led by music parties from different schools in a procession of 3 km. Students held placards with Swamiji’s message. The procession started from Cheluvamba Park with arati to Swamiji and floral offerings by monks, devotees, teachers and student representatives of different schools, and ended in Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala. 

The stage program was held in Vidyashala open ground where all the students participated. 


 Viveka Smaraka

National Youth Day on 14 January at the Viveka Smaraka, located near Sadvidya School and Diwan Sheshadri Bhavan, where Swami Vivekananda stayed at the Niranjana Matha during his parivrajaka wanderings through the length and breadth of India.
A big procession consists of 900 students of neighbouring schools and colleges and the local public took part. Swami Vivekananda’s decorated statue mounted on Jnanavahini Vehicle was led by band set parties from different schools in a procession covering about 4 km in the heart of the city. Students held placards with Swamiji’s message and recited slogans on Swamiji.
The procession culminated in an hour-long program at the Viveka Smaraka site with speakers from eminent people and recitation of inspiriting passages from Swamiji’s teaching. All were served juice and prasad packets.
