The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre – Viveka Smaraka, a unit of Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, organised a special programme to commemorate the 133rd Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Historic Chicago Address on 11 September 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Around 800 students from various educational institutions participated.
The programme commenced with Vedic chanting, followed by Bhajans and a recitation of Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the Parliament of Religions, Chicago. Students of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala presented inspiring quotations from the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Monks of the centre and other dignitaries addressed the gathering. A copy of the book Swamiji’s Chicago Addresses was distributed to all participants. The programme concluded with prayers.
