Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Tirupati celebrated National youth day and Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Swami Sukritananda, secretary Ramakrishna Mission, Tirupati garlanded the statue Swami Vivekananda at Vivekananda circle near S.V. Medical college.
Speaking the occasion Swami Sukritananda ji said that Swami Vivekananda had great faith in the youth of India and quoted his words “My faith is in the younger generation, out of them will come my workers. Like lions, with purity, patience and perseverance they will work out the whole problem”. Taking his call a whole generation of men and women sacrificed their lives in the freedom movement and service of the nation, Swamiji said. Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Jawaharlal Nehru and Rajaji were greatly inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. Sister Nivedita dedicated her life to the service of Mother India.
Swami Sukritananda ji exhorted the youth to take inspiration from the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda and take up the building of a strong nation based on service and renunciation as guiding principles. The youth of today should be strong, fearless have faith and confidence in themselves and be men of character taking Swami Vivekananda as their ideal, Swamiji added. Free Books containing the message of Swami Vivekananda were distributed to the youth assembled.
