National Youth Day was observed at Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru on the 12th January 2024 in a befitting manner. A day-long seminar was organised at the Ashrama and two more sessions were organised at Mangalore University & National Institute of Technology, Karnataka.
Sri Dinesh Gundu Rao, Honourable Minister of Health & family welfare, Govt of Karnataka inaugurated the day long seminar at the Ashrama after floral offering to the bust of Swami Vivekananda. Inaugural session was followed by sessions by resource persons & panel discussion on the topic, “Role of Youth in Atmanirbhar Bharat.” Swami Sarvasthanandaji, Minister in Charge of Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre, Bourne End, United Kingdom was the main speaker in the seminar and spoke on the topic, “Swami Vivekananda — Source of Inspiration for Youths.” About 600 youths from different colleges attended the day-long seminar.
In the afternoon a special programme was organised at Mangalore University. Programme was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University and Swami Sarvasthanandaji addressed about 200 students.
In the evening there was another programme at National Institute of Technology of Karnataka presided by Prof B Ravi, Director of NITK. Swami Sarvasthanandaji spoke on the topic, “Swami Vivekananda — Pathfinder for the Youth”. About 250 students and research scholars attended the session.
