Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Asansol, in collaboration with its School Alumni Association, celebrated National Youth Day on January 12, 2026, with great enthusiasm and solemnity. The event was conducted in two distinct phases:

Phase I: The Grand Rally

Commencing at 7:30 a.m., a magnificent 8-km rally was organized, starting from the old Ashrama crossing and concluding at Vivekananda Park, adjacent to the new Ashrama campus. The procession saw the participation of approximately 6,000 individuals, including students from 12 local schools, members of four organizations, and many devotees. The event was graced by the Ashrama’s monastics, a Minister of the Government of West Bengal, and prominent officials from AMC and ADDA. All participants were served cooked prasad and fresh fruits.

Phase II: Classical Music Evening

Marking its 12th consecutive year, the afternoon session featured a prestigious classical music programme in the Ashrama Auditorium, organized in collaboration with the ITC Sangeet Research Academy. The session began with an inaugural lamp-lighting ceremony led by Sri Vivekananda Ghosh (Sr. Divisional Manager, LIC) and Advocate Tapan Chatterjee (President, RKMA Managing Committee), both of whom shared inspiring reflections on Swami Vivekananda. The evening featured renowned musicians performing vocal and sarod recitals for an audience of nearly 700 people.
